Welcome
to my campaign website
I really appreciate
your interest in
my race for the 68th Assembly District in 2010. Thank you for
taking the time to stop by, and I hope you will find your visit
informative and enjoyable.
Why Long Pham For Assembly?
California needs a representative who knows first hand how to run a
business and deal with complex technical issues.
The state fiscal crisis indicated that we have a
flawed regulatory structure, which requires a state representative
with an engineering & business background to make decisions on
issues that greatly affect the future of our state.
My priorities
in Sacramento are to introduce and fight to pass:
1.
A
business revitalization plan, providing tax incentives and
streamlining regulation process to spur industrial businesses and
job opportunities.
2.
A
math and science education bill for K-12
3.
A state energy policy,
promoting investment in new
industrial facilities such as desalination and nuclear power plants.
As
an engineer, I am proud to have served 3 years as Vice-President of
the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) for California,
Hawaii, and Nevada. Serving 8 years on the ASME public affairs
program, I worked to advocate for responsible government on behalf
of industry. I successfully lobbied the State to invite business
and technical input on the often poorly drafted and anti-business
legislation considered by the California legislature.
Through my position with ASME, I also played an
active role in the fight against the socialization of California’s
energy system.
As a Trustee on the Orange
County Board of Education, I have maintained a solid conservative
voting record on fiscal and social issues.
Today, Republicans routinely talk about building a base within the
Vietnamese community. I began building that base more than a
decade ago. Van Tran and I were founders of the Vietnamese
American Voters Coalition, which gave the Vietnamese Americans a
corruption-free voice in politics. In 1999, when a communist
sympathizer infuriated the community with a picture of Ho Chi Minh
and a communist Vietnamese flag, I played a leading role along with
other community leaders to keep the demonstration peaceful, law
abiding and orderly. Through my efforts, many Vietnamese
Americans were educated to understand their natural affinity with
the core values of the American society.
With my experience working with
the legislature, my 30 years of industrial service, my
technical expertise, my Doctorate in Management, my connections in
the engineering community, and my devotion to limited government, I
will bring to Sacramento and serve you with the knowledge, value and
ability to reduce California’s growing government.
What sets me apart from other candidates is my
experience and proven leadership in effectively influencing
government policy on business and technical issues.
Please support and vote for Long Pham on June 8th,
2010.
Sincerely,
